COMING OUT

For years now I have ensured that all photographs of me NEVER show sticks, wheelchair or electric scooter. I suppose because I’ve never seen myself as disabled, and don’t ever see myself as having a disability

However, I think now is the time to ‘come out’. We all know the sayin;

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade

Or if you are a Still Game fan

When life gives you melons, make melonade

Getting older inevitably brings issues, as my mother would have said:

‘Auld age disnae come alone.’ (how true)

I have made my ‘lemonade’ by writing but everyone can make their own lemonade, whatever their age or disability, by taking on a new challenge.

We are all individuals with different skills, interests and talents, sometimes we don’t even know we have them we have been so busy living our lives.

If you find yourself unable to keep up with your hobbies and interests, why not open yourself up to new adventures. I promise you won’t regret making a big jug of lemonade.
