Welcome to my wee blog. This is all very new to me but as my mother used to say:

"You might as well be oot the world as oot the fashion" - so here goes...

The Night of Hurricane Ophelia...

I gave a talk at St Columba Guild in Ayr on the 16th, yes the night of Hurricane Ophelia - I had convinced myself no one would be brave enough to come and was mightily surprised when around seventy brave folks turned out.

My friend Joan came along as my "minder" "carer" - at the end of the evening I was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and I promptly handed them to her to look after - I felt like The Queen with my 'Lady in Waiting'.
Any profit from the sales of my books will be donated to Christine Revell Orphanage in Athlone, Cape Town. I have promised to write an article for the Church Magazine at the beginning of next year with an update on funds donated.
As well as the flowers I was given a large box of Quality Street, delicious! However, my dear husband insisted on helping me with the chocolates - obviously to ensure the calories were evenly distributed!
